It's a ....

After weeks of discussion and anticipation, we could no longer wait to find out if we were going to have a girl or a boy... So, feeling confident that a 23 week ultrasound would be accurate, we decided to find out and they say with over 90% confidence that it's a GIRL!

Since Luke and I both come from families of lots and lots of boys, we were about as excited and shocked to find out that we're having a little girl as when we first found out we're pregnant! It was so fun to see the ultrasound again and this time they had a big screen tv on the wall so we could see everything really clearly - so fun!

This little girl seems to have some attitude already - Luke swears that she was making the same "princess" face that I made as a little girl:)

She's putting her hand on her forehead
Here you can see her 5 little fingers on her forehead.

"Come on guys...are you done yet?!?!"

Week Twenty-two

It seems like each week is going by quicker than the last! We (baby W & I) were happy to have Luke back home Tuesday night after 10 days in the field. He thinks that my belly grew quite a bit while he was gone and the baby has certainly become more active. While Luke was talking to my belly the baby even kicked him a few times - the baby really seems to be more active whenever he/she hears Daddy:)
We've certainly enjoyed the long weekend - we're taking advantage of these last few months when we can enjoy each other's company without any other responsibilities. Although, we are extremely excited to be parents and really looking forward to the responsibilities that come with it! We did a little baby furniture shopping yesterday to see what Savannah has to offer and to compare inventory and prices. While Luke was initially shocked at the expensive price tags, we got a better idea of some things that will work and maybe even make life a little easier when the little one arrives.
We have our next appointment this Wednesday and will have another ultrasound and update then...

Week Twenty-One

New this week:
-my belly button popped out, you can see it through my shirts now, haha!
-Baby W woke me up two nights in a row from kicking so hard...I guess I'm getting prepared for what's to come:)

My belly just continues to get bigger everyday & if the kicks/jabs are any indication, the baby seems to be getting stronger each day too!

On another note - I only have 2 weeks left of work! The students are done this Friday and us teachers are done on Friday, the 29th - I'm excited to wake up without an alarm clock!

Week Twenty

I'm officially halfway there! This was another good week for me and the baby, lots of kicking & moving around. The weather is getting really HOT here (90s & humid), so I need to remember to stay hydrated to avoid headaches.
I got an exciting package in the mail this week from my wonderful cousin, Stephanie, and her little girls, Hadley & Piper, - she sent me some of her maternity clothes! It's especially fun because we shopped for some of them together & now I get to borrow them and think of her & the girls:)
Luke & I really wished we were home on Mother's Day to celebrate with our wonderful moms. It's so exciting to think that I'll have a little one by next Mother's Day! We hope all you moms had a fantastic day.

Here's some pictures of me & my growing belly in my cute new skirt from Stephanie.

Week Nineteen

This week seemed to just fly by! Week 19 went really well. Everyday I can feel the little babe moving more and more. The baby seems to be most active when I'm driving in the car and when music is playing at church:) I haven't been having too many crazy cravings but I do especially like baby pickles & DQ blizzards (oreo & pb cup). I've been trying to stay active by walking most days and doing some lunges while I'm on my walk. The weather has been absolutely gorgeous, which is great motivation to get outside! Luke enjoys talking to our little one through my growing belly - we're having a great time waiting for Baby W to get here:)

Krista's Visit

We had such a fun weekend - Krista Henkelman came to visit. On Friday night we went down to River Street in Savannah and enjoyed some fresh pecan candy & salt water taffy along with an excellent dinner at the Shrimp Factory on the Savannah River. Saturday we headed off to Jekyll Island near Brunswick, GA and had a great time relaxing on the beach. The weekend went by quickly - we enjoyed a good sermon at church and had fun discussing the important things in life for awhile after:) It was SO good to catch up with one of my best pals. I can't wait till she can come again. Here's one picture of us (the only one we took all weekend - you can tell we're getting older!).
