Quackles

My brother found this cute little toy duck in my dad's shed; it was mine when I was a little girl! His name is "Quackles" and he is a very well-loved duck. Audrey doesn't seem too thrilled about him in the pictures, but she will be once she figures out how to ride him :)

9 months old!

Audrey is officially 9 months old today! She keeps growing bigger and acting sillier the older she gets - she has always been fun, but it seems like lately each day she gets even more fun than the last :)

Here are her 9 month stats:

height: 28 3/4 in, 87th percentile

weight: 17lbs 13 oz, 33rd percentile

Some new things she's been doing are:

crawling everywhere & especially anywhere I'm going, pulling to stand on furniture & my legs, walking around furniture, saying "da-da-da", whispering "buh" for bye, raising her arms when I say "so big", randomly signing "more", and now she has her top 2 teeth for a total of 4.

Sunny Days

We've had WAY too many rainy days in a row here lately, so I thought I'd post a few pictures of Audrey that we took during some sunny days. Hopefully we'll be able to get outside again soon!

Grass...

As you may remember from an earlier post, Audrey is not a fan of grass. However, I seemed to have pinpointed the problem and it is specifically just the bottoms of her feet that she doesn't like touching the grass.

Trying hard to get her to like the grass - hard to see her face, but she looks like she's thinking: "you two are crazy if you want my feet to touch that stuff"

"Fine I won't cry, but this feels yucky"

So, we're making progress because now she'll tolerate the grass but she stands like a flamingo and tries to get her feet off the ground :)

Songs on the Lawn

Mankato hosts this great event every Thursday in June from 11-1 in the downtown area, they have a band playing and lots of local restaurants set up tents with delicious food and snacks. Audrey really enjoyed playing outside with Lydia and listening to the music too. I'm hoping all the Thursdays in June will be sunny and warm!

Family Photo Flop

While Luke was home we tried to get a new family photo - we have a few that turned out okay, but we'll just say that Miss Audrey was less than cooperative during the shoot. We asked Grandma Sandy to come with and help out and thank goodness she did because she was the only one who could get Audrey to smile that day!

I think this was photo 102 out of 104 - the best one of the bunch, we're not all looking in the same direction, but at least Audrey's not crying!

I wanted lots of cute pictures of Audrey and Daddy, but this is really the only one that she's kind of happy in because I started giving her baby-puffs to eat :)

Maybe she'll be more cooperative next time, but for some reason I have a feeling that it'll be a looong time before we are able to get a good family photo :)

Funny Faces

Audrey has a new funny face - I've been calling it her "O" face, one of her uncles called it her zoolander face, haha :) Sometimes she whistles while making it because she's sucking in so hard! She usually makes it when she's excited about something and has been making it even more often now because she knows she'll get a funny reaction from me or whoever else is around. She is just a little ham, I love it!
