Another perspective

I don't have anything very exciting to share about what the three of us have been doing here lately, so I thought I'd post a link to a new friend's blog. She is actually a friend of a friend who spent some time with us Army wives (and Audrey) while we waited for our husband's return. It was fun for me to read her perspective about what us girls were experiencing and she also took some great pictures, check out her blog: Sarah Marie Photos Blog

Transition

The transition of having Luke back together with us is going really well. Audrey absolutely LOVES having her daddy back home. He is tons of fun for her to play games with and she is a constant source of entertainment for us :)

Finally Home

I don't have any fun pictures of Luke's homecoming, but he is actually here! The three of us are having a wonderful time together, enjoying every second :)

Waiting...

Audrey and I are trying to find things to do while we patiently wait for Luke's return. The best thing so far has been the beach :)

Her first time seeing the ocean

she LOVED chasing the "ducks" aka seagulls

My friend, Alison Ross, is a photographer and has taken some great photos of Audrey for us in the past and she recently captured another fun memory for us: Audrey's first time at the beach. Check out her website when you have time Ali Anne Photography

God's Grace

I looked at the date today and realized that Luke left for Iraq 11 months ago today. It's hard to believe that he should be home in a month or less! The date today made me think that the time really has gone by quickly and honestly, the struggles of being apart weren't as awful as I thought they'd be. I realize that if I had tried to rely on my own strength that the past 11 months would have been unbearable, but thankfully I've been able to put my trust in God and His grace has gotten us through this deployment. God surrounded me with supportive family and friends, Skype and of course blessed us with Audrey who constantly brings joy to my life.
Anyways, my main point is that without God's grace I'd be lost...I'm thankful that I've grown in my understanding of the Lord this past year and hope to continue to grow even closer to Him.
I'll do my best to keep everyone updated on Luke's upcoming return! woo-hoo!

Here's a picture of one of Audrey's latest "signs", she raising her hand to ask for help or "pell" if you ask her :)

1st snowfall of the season

Audrey wasn't quite sure what to think about the first snowfall of the season. She kept trying to say "snow" and pointed out the window, so I thought we should try to go out and play. However, after the battle we had trying to get her snowpants and jacket on...I decided that we would just look at the snow for now :)
