Jaime's Baby Shower (Week 28)

It's so exciting being pregnant and having some of my best friends pregnant at the same time makes it even more fun! While I was back in MN, my friend Amanda and I were able to surprise our friend Jaime with a baby shower at Applebee's.

Visit to Wisconsin (Week 27)

First stop on my trip back home was a visit to Wisconsin. My Aunt Carolyn and I left early in the morning to go spend the day with my cousin Stephanie and her two adorable little girls. We had so much fun playing, eating, and talking. Here are a few pictures from the day:

I also got to meet up with my college roomie & one of my best friends, Lisa, and her husband, Shawn. It was so fun to see each other and talk - the three of us had fun remembering our crazy college days in Eau Claire - hopefully next visit we'll have more time!

Week 26

Summer time is flying by - I can't believe its the end of June already!

Things are continuing to go well. I love waking up on my own instead of to that annoying alarm clock...although I have to admit I'm feeling a little guilty for enjoying not working right now - but I just try to remind myself that in a few short months, when our little bundle of joy arrives, I won't have much time to work on organizing the house or sleep or relax:)

Luke and I continue to have fun playing with my belly and watching our little baby girl move around in there. I have my 27 week check up tomorrow so I'll add a new post if there's any news.

I'm REALLY excited to come back to MN for a few weeks - hope to see as many family members and friends as possible...here's a new picture of me & my big belly so you know who to look for around town:)

Week 25

Our excitement for this week was going to the beach at Tybee Island. I overheard from two little girls at church that Hannah Montana is filming there today...to bad we missed her, haha!

The weather here has been REALLY hot - like upper 90s and humid. I always thought I knew what it felt like to experience weather in the 90s because it gets up there every once and a while in MN, but not like this! I either need to be inside in the AC or in the water. It's 97 and humid by 9:00 am and stays that way all day. Last night I thought it was finally so nice and cool around 9:00 pm so I rolled down the window in my car to enjoy the breeze...when I realized it was still 89 degrees and that felt cool to me! Anyways, enough about the weather.

Chef Westman

Luke and I have taken up a new hobby - cooking dinner together. I tend to do more of the cooking because I'm home but Luke is the real chef in the family.

Last night Chef Luke perfected the shrimp & turkey burger while Sous Chef Katie made the delicious avocado dressing.

Here's what we did:
Mix ground turkey & cut up shrimp together with salt and pepper
Mix 2 avocados with lime juice, chopped onions & tomatoes & a dash of salt
Lightly butter buns and broil for 2 minutes
Spread a little mayonnaise on the top part of the bun
Place romaine lettuce leaf, provolone cheese & tomato on top part of bun
Add the burger when fully cooked
and enjoy!

Week 24

We had a great time this past week...Luke and I both had work off & we were able to enjoy some quality time together. Our new favorite activity is playing with our baby girl through my tummy:) It's so fun to watch my belly move and try to figure out what she is doing. She responds to our voices and pokes most of the time - we can't wait for her to arrive! We know we'll spend hours just staring at her:)
New things during week 24 included: feeling her hiccup and braxton hicks contractions - both were quite entertaining.

Week 23

Not a whole lot to update you on since the last post...
Our little baby girl is still moving around a lot! You can definitely see my belly moving and I can not only feel her kicks/jabs but also when she's changing positions. My belly looks pretty funny when she's moving around:) Luke is convinced that she's practicing gymnastics in there!
I'm still feeling good most of the time. I'm officially on summer vacation now and that means that I'm going to exercise more regularly. I'm walking in the mornings and hoping to start water aerobics at the gym this week too.
Other than that - I'm just trying to stay cool in this Georgia heat! My new favorite food is lime "Whole Fruit" bars - which are basically fancy popsicles and they taste soooo good!
